Mobile blogging app??

Yes PLEASE! Mommy's new job is now full time, so she was happy to figure out how to blog on the go. Trying to juggle everything has been tough, but luckily we are getting there.  At one point this month, all of us were sick and my grandma came up to the rescue. Luckily sissy was at her daddys house so she was spared.. well until the next weekend when she caught it at school anyway.

So mommy is gonna try to catch up on her reviews now.

**Product Review* Nuby Teething Blanket

My friends at Nuby sent me this to try out. It is so much fun to chew on. I have 4 teeth now, 2 on the top and two on the bottom. Those top ones really bother me, and I loved to chew on this when those pesky top ones were cutting through to help things along.   There are teething things on each corner for me to chew on, and the blanket crinkles and squeaks while I play with it. I really like the Lion on the front too.

**Mommy says** The Nuby teething blanket is great. Keigan really enjoys chewing on the corners and is fascinated by the crinkle sound that it makes.  We are so happy with this!

Nuby teething blanket's are available in several different characters and are available at BuyBabyDirect.com for $6.99 plus shipping. Keigan loves it!

New Job-

Sorry for the delay everyone.  Mommy got a new job! So we are just trying to get on a schedule around here that allows time for blogging. (Right now we'd rather snuggle since we are not together every day.)  And today I am starting to wade through my pile of pouches and notes on babyfood. :)

New Recipe-- Keigans Oatmeal

Since I love yogurt, mommy made me something new for breakfast.  A fruit and veggie blend baby food, mixed with equal parts of plain yogurt and two or three scoops of grain.  Stir- mixture should be the consistency of regular oatmeal and it is DELICIOUS!  I have had this for breakfast a lot and I love it!  It works best with something that is a little sweet. Mommy makes it cold by keeping the baby food in the fridge with the yogurt. The cold feels SO good on my sore gums!

Yummy yum yum.  Bonus- If you get it on your hand it makes excellent conditioner in your hair.

**Product Review**Nuby iMonster Snack Keeper

My friends at Nuby asked me to review this. And I like it. Mommy gives it to me to play with while I am in my high chair and she is cleaning.   She puts little snacks inside it for me to get out.  I haven't really figured it out yet, but if you turn it upside down and shake it it rattles. And the hands are great for gumming, the feet are too.  (I've only got two teeth you know)  I like to stick my fingers in the mouth and the "teeth" make me giggle.

**Mommy says** what a great idea!  This is recommended for ages 12mo and up. Keigan is only 8 months right now, so I know that this is one of those things that will grow with him.    Right now he likes to just play with it while I clean the kitchen, but I know he'll figure out how to get those snacks out soon.  The soft silicone flaps are great for his little exploring fingers to worm their way through. The snacks rattle around in there, and he can see them, but they don't come spilling out, even when it goes crashing to the floor. (And it has.) Anything that buys me at least 15 minutes of time to clean up is a win in my book.

These are available for purchase at Burlington Coat Factory, Buy Buy Baby and several online retailers like amazon.com for $5.99. (It was on sale at time of posting for $4.99!)

Peter Rabbit Organic- Pumpkin, Carrot and Apple

Mmmm.... It was such a pretty color. Sometimes baby food can look so icky.  It was nice and orange and lumpy with oatmeal mixed in.  I ate in a hurry, and only spit off the side of my high chair once.  That's a new game I have. Spitting over the side.  One day I'll hit the cat. I just know it.

Peter Rabbit is all organic, with no added salt, sugar or anything artificial. And there's a cute little bunny on the outside of the pack.  Mommy can't wait until I can just suck right out of the package.

Made in the USA!

Earths Best _ Banana Raspberry and Brown Rice

This is the last of the Earths Best fruit and grain puree's we found.  I liked them all!!!  Mommy mixed some extra brown rice into this one and served it warm.  The ingredients are simple again, bananas, water, raspberries, brown rice, citric acid and those vitamins again.   It was good! Nice and sweet and smelled like bananas!!!  The color wasn't really appetizing though-

Earths Best - Pear Apricot and Barley.

Mommy and I get excited still when we see new baby food flavors at the store. I think she is a little sad that I am starting to eat big boy food and not so much baby food anymore.   This one was really good. I tried it first with just barley added, and it was ok. But my top teeth are coming in so I prefer breakfast COLD.  Mommy mixed some yogurt and more barley into it and I ate it up QUICK.  She laughs at me because when she gets the food the way I like it, I eat FAST.

This is USDA organic, ingredients are pears, water, apricots, whole grain barley citric acid and some of the added vitamins etc. that they put in to Earths Best.

Saturday, September 22, 2012

Earths Best Apple Plum Kumut-

YUM!  Mommy explained that Kumut is a fancy name for wheat. This was super good with barley mixed into it.  It was a pretty purple color too!  Mommy was testing a new spoon (update on that later) and I still managed to eat this all gone quick!  It was a little bit sweet tasting.

The ingredients are Apples, water, plums, kumut, oats, citric acid and some other vitamins added. It is USDA organic and has no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives.

Happy Tot- Sweet Potato, Apple, Carrot and Cinnamon

Happy tot made me happy.  I ate it all gone. It was warm, which was new to me, so I wasn't too sure about this.

Mommy says- There is a lot of writing on the outside of this- so I wasn't crazy about the packaging. (And I am confused as to how this particular brand lists 0 mg of sodium when most other brands of organic have at least 10mg with far fewer ingredients)
Dr Sears recommends this brand, and Keigan liked it pretty well. I mixed barley with it, and served it warm. (thanks to the Nuby Bottle warmer we are currently testing!)

Gerber NatureSelect- Apples and Cherries

Mommy got me this one, even though she HATES cherries. You know what? I LOVE them.  This was yummy cold right out of the fridge to help my sore gums.  I ate it so fast and yelled for more.  The ingredients are simple too. Apples, Cherries, water and Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C). If this were organic, I'd get it more often.

Sunday, September 16, 2012

Buddy Fruit- Apple and Multifruit

What is a Multifruit you ask? Well- according to the label it is a mixture of banana, passion fruit juice, mango, strawberry and some apple juice.  All I know is that it is GOOD!   Mommy got this at Kroger on sale for $1 a pouch.  (The gecko likes the mango one)  I love them with my morning oatmeal!

Saturday, September 15, 2012

Peter Rabbit Organics- Carrot Squash and Apple

How do you get this stuff out of here??   I'll figure it out-

This stuff was really good. Of course it had squash in it, which is my favorite, well, one of my favorites anyway.  Mommy warmed it up, and mixed in some Gerber mixed grain and YUM!!

I can't say enough good things about Peter Rabbit Organics. He has loved EVERY single flavor!! I am touting the made in the USA bit on every post because I feel it is so important to support American companies when we can!!!

Friday, September 14, 2012

Happy Baby- Broccoli, Peas and Pear

Ehh... it was ok I guess. I didn't eat it very fast.  Mommy still wonders about this brand. The sodium is listed at 0mg when most other brands have at least 10mg of sodium.  She mixed in Gerber rice and everything. It was just ok.

Thursday, September 13, 2012

Yo Baby Vanilla yogurt

I love this stuff.  It is cold and feels so good on my swollen gums. Sometimes lately it is all mommy can get me to eat.  I'll be glad when all these teeth come in.

Yo Baby is organic but is nice and sweet. I love it.

Ellas Kitchen - The yellow one.

I liked this package. It is smaller than normal and a pretty color.  The ingredients are bananas, apples, mangoes and apricots with a little lemon juice. It was really tasty and is USDA organic. Mommy mixed in a little oatmeal, and served this with my yogurt for lunch. YUM.

Tuesday, September 11, 2012

Gerber Nature Select Smoothies- Vanilla Custard Pudding with Bananas

I got to eat this one cold right out of the fridge. It really made my gums feel better.  There are a lot of ingredients, including egg yolks, so if you may have allergies, don't eat this one! Gerber has no added salt, starch, artificial flavors or colors and is sweetened with juice concentrate.

**Mommy says** He loves these. Now... if Gerber would start making organic fruit and veggie mixes!

Monday, September 10, 2012

Peter Rabbit - Pea. Spinach and Apple

Another YUM!!!!!!!  I LOVED this one. Mommy mixed in some Gerber Mixed Grains to give it my texture and I gobbled it down.  USDA organic, no added salt, sugar and nothing artificial. The ingredients are all listed in the title.  Mommy says she will order this brand online for me when I am older. Since it is in a pouch I'll be able to have a nice healthy snack whenever I want.  I think her favorite part, other than the pouch, is the made in the USA part.

Sunday, September 9, 2012

Gerber Organic Pear Strawberry granola

Mommy fed me this one right out of the container.  It was super good. I was hungry today so I just gobbled it up and wasn't in the mood for pictures.

The ingredients are pears, apple juice, strawberry puree, oat flour, brown rice flour, wheat flour and tuna oil (ummm eww) and a few other things. But I still liked it and ate it right up.

Saturday, September 8, 2012

Peter Rabbit- Sweet potato, Corn and Apple

So far Peter Rabbit has been nothing but YUM!!!!   Organic, no added salt or sugar, nothing artificial and made in the USA!!  It was naturally sweet, mixed in with Gerber Barley cereal and I loved it. I was just mad when it was all gone.

Thank you Peter Rabbit for picking me!

Friday, September 7, 2012

Buddy Fruits- Mango, Passion and Banana

Mommy picked this up at Kroger. They had a new display right up front in the produce section. The ingredients are  mango, apple, banana and passion fruit juice.  Theses are some of those pouches that are marketed for older kids- but I like em. And so did my sissy's gecko.  It was yummy with my oatmeal!!!!

I also have a new tooth. So that is two teeth!! So I like to bite on things alot.  You should like them on Facebook here.

Thursday, September 6, 2012

Gerber Banana, Plum and Grape

I wasn't feeling too good today. So Mommy decided to "loosen things up" and fed me this for both breakfast and lunch. It worked! And now I feel so much better!  The ingredients are simple, bananas, plums and grape juice, with some citric acid.  It was tasty. I ate it all gone both times, even though I didn't feel so hot.  Mommy is so smart!

Wednesday, September 5, 2012

Plum Organics Sweet Potato, Mango and Millet

The ingredients start with apple, then sweet potato, water, mango millet and lemon juice. I liked it pretty good though. It doesn't take me long to eat things I like. But if it is something I don't like... well. I just won't eat it. Rest assured, I ate this one up.

*Product Review* Nuby Wash or Toss Plastic Bowls

These Wash or toss bowls are great.  Mommy puts the cereal in to the bowl, puts on the lid and packs my food separately. When we get to where we are going, she just  mixes it up right into this bowl and feeds me.  Then closes it all up again and puts into the diaper bag saving the mess for when we get home.  I like to play with these things too. I'm not crazy about the lid- I usually just toss it onto the ground. (Maybe the cat will play with it.)  And I play with the bowl. They make pretty good hats- and mommy puts my goldfish in there sometimes too!

*Mommy says*-  The Wash or Toss bowls from Nuby are perfect for mommies and babies on the go. You want a meal away from home to be fast and easy with no mess!!!  With the Wash or Toss bowls, this is so easy! These bowls are made of strong durable plastic that can be used over and over again, making feeding and storage a snap, or you can just toss them if it's not worth transporting home, you get to decide!

. They come in a pack of 6 bowls with easy 6 to close lids included.
Bowls are microwave & dishwasher safe, just remember to take the lid off when microwaving!

They are available for purchase here and are $5.49 for a pack of 6!!

Gerber Vegetable Risotto with Cheese (Organic)

Boy oh boy! This was super duper!  Mommy warmed it up a little and served it with some brown rice. I gobbled it all up so fast!  She has only found it at BRU so far, so we'll just have to make another trip there.

Peter Rabbit Organics- Pear and Apple

This sweet deal came from Peter Rabbit Organics. And it was SUPER YUMMY!  Mommy mixed into oatmeal for my lunch.  Well, first she tried to let me eat it out of the pouch, but I'm not there yet.  She loves the pouches and knows they will be perfect for me when I am a bit older. They are marketed as snacks for older kids, but I get to eat them for meals. Peter Rabbit products are not only USDA organic, 100% fruit/veggie, and BPA free, they are made in the USA!! That makes Mommy and Daddy very happy!! The ingredients in this flavor are 1. Pear. 2. Apple. Just like the label says, with no added sugar or salt and nothing artificial.

Mommy won mine in a contest on Facebook, but you can find out where to buy them on their website here>>>> Where to buy.  Whole Foods and Starbucks are two places that you can find them.

Ella's Chick-Chick Chicken Casserole

Well finally. A Chick-Chick that tastes good!!!  I loved this!!  It is organic, all of Ella's are, and is textured, not lumpy. Mommy didn't have to add anything to it- it was perfect just the way it was.  Veggie stock, carrots, broccoli, onions, chicken, apricots (surprise!) rice and a hint of mint. It was super yummy!1

Daddy's birthday

Daddy's birthday is a great day.  First of all my prize came in from Peter Rabbit Organics.  I got to play with the backpack before Mommy put it away. AND I got to eat chocolate cake and ice cream.  Chocolate cake makes me WILD!  Mommy says it must be the sugar. That cake stuff is gooooood. I'll be watching for it again.

Mommy WON!!!!!

Mommy entered another Baby food contest and SHE WON!!!!  I get to sample a bunch of Peter Rabbit Organic baby food! And I get my first back pack!   This is a really cool brand, and I've only got to sample one thing, but I really liked it! Peter Rabbit Organic Website and their facebook page.  We are so excited!!!

And they didn't know she was a blogger when she won.  Yea for me!!!

Finding my voice- A vaccine advocate in the making!

I never expected to start along the road of a vaccine advocate, just to be a mom.   Honestly, when I had my daughter 11 years ago I just vaccinated because that is what the Doctors told us to do.  It wasn't until I was pregnant with my son last year that I learned there was a anti vaccine movement out there, claiming that vaccines did more harm than good.  That made pay attention! I went on a few of their support sites, on Facebook and began reading, following the links that they posted to support their claims all the way to the end, reading the actual scientific studies and articles. If there was no science behind their claim, I discounted it. Researching the articles often taught me that the actual science that was out there supported vaccination and the anti vaccination theories have been dis-proven again and again.  They claim the same things over and over, but when you try to argue, you are automatically assumed to be working for "big Pharma", or Merek.  They don't listen when you argue that anything in inappropriate quantities is toxic, or deadly.  Inject air into your veins and you'll die, drinking to much water at once can kill you as well.

Then I noticed that a lot of the anti vaccine self proclaimed "experts" were conspiracy theorists. They essentially claim that disease isn't so bad. Most of it can be cured with homeopathic treatments.  Just last night I was SHOCKED  to see someone suggest on a Facebook page that polio is curable with homeopathy and vitamin C injections. So don't vaccinate against that.  Another tread was saying, if your child gets measles, let the fever burn. Treat with oregano oil, and don't worry about that.  And yet another mother was saying that her child got rota-virus, was in the hospital, but she is still glad that she didn't have the child vaccinated because now he is immune.  One google search taught me that you can get rota-virus more than once, and you can even catch a mild case of it if you are vaccinated, and I'm sorry, but when my daughter was in the hospital as an infant with RSV, I'd have done anything to spare her that! This page will delete any comment that doesn't support their views! So the 17 year old mother who posted the question walks away thinking that disease isn't so bad.

Many of the most active anti-vaxers spout off about government conspiracy. And that every government in the world is in on this, and the scientists and that any of us who are against them, must be from "big pharma". Yet, they are often the ones with no profile pictures, and obviously fake names. (Or parents with a wicked sense of humor.) Wild and crazy accusations, such as "they are injecting us with transmitters so that they can track us all by satellite." (Umm... what??)

There is one page in particular on Facebook that will delete any comment that doesn't support their anti-vaccination views. No discussion, if you don't support us, then we will delete your comment.  I don't understand that thinking at all! There are people on that page believing them because everyone else does!!  Yet they preface every post with :

"All information is provided on an as-is basis. "REMOVED THE PAGE NAME" does not take any responsibility for comments published by its readers. Readers publish comments at their own risk.

Be wise..don't immunize, but also don't take something or give your kid something because you read it on the computer :)"

And yet, they are the worst at deleting any comment that doesn't agree with their views.   They advise people on how to lie on exemption forms, and how to get around the rules. One mother was putting her un-vaccinated child into a state funded day care and wanted to know how to get around the state required rule of sending out letters to the other parents informing them that there were un-vaccinated children in their class.  Thank god for that law, because I would want to know!

One tactic I personally love is when they start with the wild assumptions about you, calling you uneducated, or attacking your diet, are saying you must love to take medication.  They don't like hearing that my degree isn't in Google, and that I delivered two children, one 9lb 8oz, the next 9lb 12oz, with no pain medication.  I don't run them to the Dr for antibiotics, and I know what CSA's are, support farm to table, and use ingredients when I cook.  That when my daughter was diagnosed with ADHD, I researched and chose not
to medicate and instead chose diet and therapy to treat her.  They really get mad when I respond to their "Well, she wouldn't have ADHD if you didn't vaccinate." with "Then explain to me why she was re tested 4 years later, and 5 months after her 4 booster shots for middle school and found to no longer have ADHD. Diet and therapy worked."

Many articles that I have read are suggesting that the un-vaccinated are actually putting the rest of us at risk by allowing the diseases to mutate enough so that the vaccines are not working.  I have read shocking statistics that were summarized by Parenting Magazine: 1 child dies of a vaccine preventable illness every 20 seconds.  1 in 600 un-vaccinated children will be hospitalized with a vaccine preventable illness.  There are vaccine reactions, but they are much less common and range from mild, say a fever, to a more severe reaction, are 1 in 100,000.

Then my mother asked about Helen Keller. Would she have chosen vaccination with that risk, or what happened to her.

So Thank You anti vaccination crowd. You have pushed me to do serious research.  I am now a vaccine advocate.  I will ask every parent, before allowing a playdate, "is your child current on their vaccinations?" because that is MY right. It is MY right to protect my children to the best of my ability.  I'm not sorry if I hurt your feelings, and you can tell me over and over "if your child is vaccinated, you have nothing to worry about." I know that is BS because you and your friends have forced me to do enough research to where I also know that vaccines are not perfect. You can still catch something that you have been vaccinated for, you'll just generally get a less severe case. And to be quite frank, I dread having to tell my kids that one of their friends has died because their parents went along with a fad, therefore I won't encourage, and will discourage that friendship, no matter how nice a person you are on the surface.

And my education continues. A group I am in on Facebook also includes one of the Authors of "Your Babies Best Shot: Why Vaccines are Safe and Save Lives" .  A book I will be ordering and reading cover to cover.
And before you tell me that Facebook isn't a viable source of research, remember I am following actual links- to actual articles written and published by medical experts, scientists etc, and I have a safe forum to go to now that will help me understand the few things that are way over my head, and help me to put the context of the article into a whole report, without pulling out one or two lines that support my bias view.
(Like the woman who told me that you can't catch HIV from donor milk - and posted an article from Fox news that said that- with a link that I followed to an actual report that quite clearly stated that you COULD catch HIV that way unless you were on antivirals. But that is an entirely other argument!)

** Commenting is turned off for now. This blog is public, and children of friends read it. I won't publish hate speech and foul language. To be honest, I have had enough of that on my Facebook page and messages!**

*Update 9/5, I was banned from the Proud Parents of UnVaccinated Children. page on Facebook. ROFL- I told them that I wouldn't risk the lives of my children on a FAD and they banned me from commenting anymore. I find it both HILARIOUS and SAD that the admins of that page will ban someone for speaking their mind, but yet let people spread outright lies and garbage about vaccinations. They removed the entire post that got me worked up- it was a picture of pen caps. It said that there were more deaths from choking on pen caps than from whooping cough.  What an outright lie.

*Product Review* Nuby Super Spout Easy Gripper Cup

Nuby sent me a cup to review, and although I wasn't too sure at first, now I like it. Mommy puts ice water in it when I eat a meal.  I like how cold that stuff is, and I'm getting pretty darn good at drinking from this cup, if I do say so myself.  The Nuby Cup has a soft spout, kind of like my bottle nipple.  At first I just chewed on it, because that felt so good on my sore gums. Then I figured out that stuff came out of it, and that was kind of shocking. It was COLD! Now I make mommy give it to me when I want it while I am eating. I gotta wash that food down with something.  I also like that it has a smaller middle, so I can hold it easier by myself and get it to my mouth without any help.  Did you know that when you throw things on the floor your mommy will pick them up?  A new mealtime game!!  I throw it down a lot, and no spills!! I admit I'm a little disappointed in that feature.  Nothing wrong with a mess!

**Mommy says**   We've been working on sippy cups for a while, so I've been holding off on this review to be fair and make sure he got it the concept of a cup.  We have 3 different types, and Keigan and I both like this cup the best!  The Super Spout Easy Gripper has a unique one piece No-Spill™ soft silicone spout that is easy to use, easy to clean.  The others that we have, Avent for one, frustrated him.  Either they were harder to get the liquid out, or much to easy. Some of them have, in my opinion, a weird spout shape. This one has a valve that opens with a little pressure, he started out just biting on it and and water came out- then the first few real sucks made him throw out his arms in shock! Ice water is shockingly cold!. I think he likes it because the spout is silicone and most like a bottle nipple, and I like it because it is a leak resistant spout.

Mommy tip  **lets face it people, these are leak resistant, not leak proof. If you leave it laying on its side, there will be a slow leak. But when thrown on the floor, it's no spill.  For us, it's a win- and I'll be ordering more of these!!  You can order at buybabydirect.com and they are $5.99 a two pack!

I did not receive any compensation for this post, although as part of this program I may receive items to sample or review.  These opinions are my own.

Plum Tots- Fruit and Grain mish mash - apple cinnamon oats and quinoa

To be honest- mommy is not sure that I like cinnamon.  I've had it a few times with less than stellar results.  Ehh- it was pretty good I guess. I ate it.  Then I ate my goldfish crackers. Now people, those are GOOD!

Monday, August 27, 2012

Beech Nut Fruities- Apple, mango and carrot puree

So I was playing while mommy mixed this up- sometimes the woman is slow, I gotta say it.  She was messing around and putting oatmeal into my food so I was playing with my new hat.  I like this thing.

The food was super good too! And it was so PRETTY smeared all over my tray. Mommy should really get a picture of that for you.  I make a big mess, and have even learned to drop some over onto the floor and lean over to look at it alot.  I make sure she has to WORK to get me to eat. But this stuff was yummy and I ate it!

Ella's Kitchen- very, very tasty Vegetable Bake with lentils!

MMM!! This tasted as good as it smelled!!! I loved every last bite of it!  I did take a little time to smear some of it around, but that's what happens now that I am eating here 3 times a day!  Ella's is all organic, and has lots of good ingredients in it like- tomatoes, carrots, parsnips, rutabagas, onions, leeks, peppercorns, sweet potatoes, red lentils, red peppers, oregano, cumin and olive oil! This is more like what the big people eat!!

I need a vote people! Help me eat cake!

Daddy's birthday is really soon. Mommy is trying to decide if she will let me have some cake with daddy, or if I should wait until it's MY birthday.  I want to say that I don't think it's fair if EVERYONE else gets cake and I have to wait? Whose with me???? Give the baby some CAKE!

Plum Organics - Apple, raisin and quinoa

I was sad when this was all gone.  I really liked it a lot!  I didn't even stop to play my games, I just ate really fast. Daddy was even in the kitchen watching me!!! It was sweet, and mommy put some extra rice in it to make it the way I like it.  The ingredients were just like the name- except a little lemon juice! mmmm... good!

Pastini in Chicken Broth- with Nurturme scrumptious squash

My friend Abby's Mommy told mine about this pastini stuff, basically little bitty tiny pasta shaped like stars.  So my mommy got some and made them for me. She cooked them in chicken broth, added pureed chicken that she made for me too. She also added some Nurturme scrumptious squash. That stuff was delicious!!!!!  My friend Sonja was here to baby sit me so she was lucky and got to watch me eat, I know that was fun for her.

**Mommy says** Nurturme is a brand that makes dehydrated baby food, so basically I added powdered squash to the mixture.  It isorganic and BPA free.  Also- I have heard that people add this to baby food as a thickener instead of a grain, but from my research it is actually higher in calories and carbs, and not as nutritious as adding the grain- since most of the grains are nutritionally enhanced.

Recipe- feel free to tweak for your babies tastes! Keigan likes foods thicker, and this made two servings.

1 1/2 cups organic chicken broth.  ( I used a carton, BPA free)
1/4 cup pureed organic free range chicken (I pureed the chicken and froze it into individual portions)
1/4 cup pastini
1 pack nuturme baby food- scrumptious squash.

Super easy- boil the pasta in the broth until cooked. Mix in the powdered baby food until not lumpy- then pop in the cube of frozen chicken.  The frozen precooked chicken will help cool the dish down a bit. I served him half, and put the rest into a large size baby food jar for his lunch tomorrow.  I've also done this with the Nurturme crunchy carrots, but it didn't taste as good.  If it is thicker than your baby likes, just add more broth!

Sprout- Vegetable Lasagne with Meat

mmmmm..... Where has this stuff been???????   Mommy gave me this for dinner, and I LOVED IT!  I still have my cold, but I didn't care. I wanted MORE.  It was nice and chunky, with little pieces of meat and pasta in a tomato sauce.  I ate it all gone and was so happy.   Mommy said she may get me this more often, because I can have it when everyone else gets spaghetti. (we'll just see about that!)

Scrambled Eggs

Mommy cooked lunch for me today!!! She made something called scrambled eggs.  Boy did I LOVE these!! She had to fasten the belt on my chair for the first time, because I tried to climb over the tray to get more!!  They were hard to get off of the spoon, so that made me frustrated. And putting things on the tray makes me mad because I still have trouble picking them up. So she had to feed me bites with her fingers. I was so excited eating these that I forgot all about finger painting.  (For those of you that don't know, baby food is a great toy. You spew some out onto your highchair tray and use your hands to smear it around and you can bang on it to make pretty splatters.) Anyway, eggs are a win.

Product Review** Nuby Storage bowls with feeding spoon

Nuby sent me these to try out. And I like them.   They are good for taking food with us when we go out, so that Mommy can feed me when I try to beg for what it is she and Daddy are eating.  They never feed me much from their plates, so this means they can take stuff for me too! The spoon is just right for me to get into my mouth. Mommy usually packs two, one with snacks for me, like the Plum brand Puffs that I love, and another with food to use the spoon with. Food makes me happy, especially when everyone else is eating.
*Mommy says* These are really handy to have!! I like being able to pack a couple things to take with us when we go out.  There were 4 bowls and lids in the set, and honestly they are great to pack in my daughters school lunch! They are the perfect size and are of a sturdy plastic!  When we go out, the spoon has a long handle, so it would be great in jarred baby food as well.  The instructions say that these are not made for liquid, so I wouldn't use them for canned fruit or anything like that.  They are available for purchase at http://www.buybabydirect.com/p/114/storage-bowls-feeding-spoon and they are $5.99 for the set.   **Mommy tip** a toothbrush holder is the perfect thing to store feeding spoons in for the diaper bag!

I just wanted to add that I found another great use for these bowls!! They are the perfect size for Ritz crackers!!!!!!!

Cat food

So, I've been watching the cat for a while. That guy has it made.  A bowl of food just siting there waiting for him all the time.  It must be delicious because he goes over to that bowl to eat it all the time.  If I could count I'd tell you how many times, because I watch him go there over and over and over. I guess he is teasing me and rubbing it in that I have to wait for food and he doesn't. Today my chance came.   Mommy sat me in the floor while she was doing something with water in the sink.  So I scooched my butt over toward the bowl. That takes me a while, as I'm just getting good at this being mobile thing, but I stayed focused on the prize. When I was finally close enough I laid down face forward, stretched out my hand, REALLY STRETCHED and pulled that bowl of deliciousness over to me by the tips of my little fingers. Then I sat up and pulled it even closer, and dug in with both of my hands to feel what was in there.  Finally I pulled out two huge heaping hand fulls!

Next time I attempt this, I will remember to wait until Mommy is not around.  I heard her say my name and looked up. Then she took my picture and laughed, but I don't know why. Then she took more pictures, and picked me before I even got any into my mouth. She even had the nerve to get out all the pieces I had hidden in my fists.

Ella's Kitchen- Four Bean Feast

Mommy thinks my cold is throwing off my taste buds. I hated this one too, so she says she'll buy it again and give it to me when I feel better, because she doesn't think it tastes that bad.  And normally I love beans. She just doesn't understand I like them when they are off of HER plate. Those are better.

Anyway- she says the ingredients sound yummy- vegetable stock, tomatoes, navy beans, cannellini beans, red kidney beans, butternut squash, green beans, onions carrots and basil. (all organic!)  But I don't care how yummy it sounds. I don't like it.

Peter Rabbit Organics- Mango, Banana and Orange

Yummo!!! (I heard a lady on TV say that the other day. I have been saving it.) Sissy picked this out because her Gecko can have some of it with me. Lucky for them I like this stuff. There is a cute little bunny on the pouch. Peter Rabbit Products are all natural and organic! They like to say 100% healthy, 100% organic and 100% delicious! This is a brand mommy had never seen before and it is marketed as a snack for older kids.  (Big kids get everything.)  But it was yummy for breakfast! Mommy gave it to me cold with oatmeal. We'll get this again. It made me happy!! Of course mommy checked them out online at their website-  http://www.peterrabbitorganics.com/

Then she liked them on Facebook!  On their website it says these are produced in the USA!  Can it be true?

Sprout - Ginger Chicken with Bananas, Coconut and Rice

ICK!!! I did not like this AT ALL!!  I even gagged a few times, which made mommy and daddy laugh.  I don't know why it was so funny. My friend Paulie C. had his mommy send a few of this brand to me. (My Mommy must be incompetent, she hasn't been able to find much of this brand anywhere.)

This is a picture of me trying to get it out of my mouth.  *gag* Mommy felt sorry for me and let me have one of my favorites, Gerber Pears and Blueberries with Granola, which I gobbled up. I was HUNGRY, and MAD. They were trying to get me to eat something that I already said I didn't like. *gag*

Sprout- Peach Rice Pudding

To be honest this started out a little thin.  So Mommy mixed extra rice in. And not just baby rice! She had some grown up rice so she put a little of that in too. That made it nice and lumpy so I got to CHEW!  Did I tell you that I have a tooth? It doesn't really do anything now but hurt my mouth. But Mommy says it will help me eat later. I don't really understand. Sometimes it hurts when I chew on my hand or foot now. Mommy tells me not to bite myself. Then she laughs. She laughs at me alot.

I also want to thank my friend Paulie again. This was in the box of goodies that he and his mommy sent me. Thank you Paulie!  He's my fellow foodie you know, I talk to him on Facebook.

Sprout- Summer Squash, Potatoes and Parmesan

Mommy couldn't find this stuff here, so my friend Paulie C's mommy came to the rescue and sent me some of this brand from New York State.   Paulie is a fellow baby foodie.  I like him. We get to see each other on the computer with something called video. I like to talk back to him.   He makes me laugh.
This is what I had for dinner last night and "mmm...mmm" was it good!  I wish I felt better so I could have really enjoyed it, but mommy was happy that I ate anything at all. It was super good though! Squash is my favorite!

Plum training meals- harvest vegetable with turkey

Dear Plum,

This one is a FAIL. You tricked me with the wonderful smell. But when I tried to eat it. *gag* I did not like it. I kept opening my mouth hoping I would get something better, but it did not happen. So I started spitting it back out. *gag*.

Love Keigan.

PS. Mommy says it looks gross too. *gag*

Product Review- Nuby Icy Bite Teether

Teething hurts, it makes me drool alot and I want to chew on things.  For some reason Mommy won't let me chew on sissy's flip flop, or Daddy's foot, so she gave me a new teether that Nuby makes. Yes! Something new to for me to chew on!   First of all, it is cold, but I like that.  Second of all, it has a weird shape with all these little bumpy things on it, but it feels so good to gnaw on it!  It is the perfect size for me to hold and move around, and it feels so good on my sore gums. These are bigger and stay colder longer than my other two teethers, and we have two of these.  Mommy keeps one in the fridge and lets me have the other and trade them out so that I always have something nice and cold to chew on and to make my sore mouth feel much better.

**Mommy says-   The PurICE gel inside this teether makes it stay cold longer than the other teethers that we have, and Keigan seems to like this shape better. It has almost paddle like extensions with raised offset surfaces that he really likes to chew on, it almost looks like a little hand.  My best teething tip is to buy two of any cold teethers you get, so that you can keep  in the fridge and can switch them out. They do eventually warm up.    He likes this so much that I managed to wash dishes and clean the kitchen while he was chewing happily away in his high chair!
The teethers are available at Walmart, amazon.com, diapers.com and buybuybaby. You can also get them at  buybabydirect.com- teether, and they are only $2.99 on this site.
