Gerber Organic pouch- apple blackberry
I've had this one a few times now and it is one of my favorites! I love blackberries!!!! I can pick this pouch out of the cabinet all by myself and get really excited when I see it. And I put my bib on myself while mommy is mixing the oatmeal in. I was ready for this one!

Gerber Nature Select Smoothies - Hawiian Delight
Mommy said this was a mix of pineapple juice, white grape juice and bananas. All I know is that I loved it!!! Mommy says she is surprised by all that I like to eat. I keep trying to tell her that I just know what's good. I kept making my noises and throwing my arms out while I was eating this. ahh--- I want it again!

Gerber Nature Select - Smoothies Mango
This one had great smell. I skipped the tentative tongue tasting and just opened my mouth. Mommy had mixed in some oatmeal so it had a nice squishy texture- I let out a lot of "mmmm-mmm" sounds while I was eating and made sure not to leave a drop on my bib.

Gerber Organic Pouch- Apples and Summer Peaches
Had this one for breakfast mixed with oatmeal. It smelled so yummy! A lot better smelling than some of them do. Mommy said it didn't look bad either. I liked the flavor of this one better than the regular Gerber container of apples and peaches. "mmmm.mmmm" Mommy said that Ginkgo the Gecko liked it too.

Ella's Kitchen - Spinach, Apples and Rutabagas
Ella is never disappointing. Mommy mixed it in with brown rice and it tasted SO good. Mommy said it looked a bit like something you'd see in my diaper but luckily appearance means little to me. It smelled good, and it was so yummy. I ate it really fast- and cried when it was all gone. Darn serving sizes.

Plum Organics- Spinach Peas and Pear
It didn't really smell like anything, so I was a little hesitant to open my mouth. Ever since that disastrous Chick Chick episode I don't like to open my mouth until I am sure I'm gonna like it. I decided to stick out just the tip of my tongue to test it and I am glad I did. "MMM!" Mommy had mixed in the rice again to make it thick- and there were little pieces of something mommy called spinach in it. I decided I was in a good mood, so I started rasp-berrying some of it at mommy. She keeps saying "No" to me and putting the spoon back on my mouth for some reason. I just like to make mess.

Earth's Best Butternut Squash and Pear
Mommy got a coupon from Earths Best for a free pouch of baby food. She knows how much I love squash so she picked this one up. She mixed in brown rice, and I gobbled it up and didn't even make a mess on my bib. I yelled until mommy scraped the bowl for me and I think she might listen to me soon and just let me lick the bowl.

Gerber Organic (pouch) Apples, Blueberries and Spinach
This was OK. I didn't make much noise, dive for the spoon or anything. I just ate it because I was hungry and it was there. I did make mommy work to get each bite in though- I kept turning away and was easily distracted by the cat eating his breakfast. Now- that stuff looks good. I can't wait to get over there and into that!
Mommy got to try this one for free with a coupon though. So she said it was worth trying.
*My friend and fellow foodie baby "P" said he didn't like this one at all. (we both like the apple and blackberry one though)

Gerber Organic - Butternut Squash and Corn
I love, love, love this one. This I eat well enough that Mommy will let Sissy feed it to me. I make all my noises and don't get distracted at all when I eat this. I can only focus on that spoon coming out of the bowl and going into my open mouth. "mmmm, mmmm, mmmm." I even keep my arms stretched out to the sides and out of the way.
Mommy does but brown organic rice into it to thicken it up a bit because it is pretty watery.
I ate both containers of this just the same way. Devoured.

Ella's Kitchen- strawberries and apples
YUM!!!!!!!! "mmmm,mmmm, mmmm"
Mommy put oatmeal in this one to make the texture a bit thicker. I dived for the spoon every time, and she could not get this one into my mouth fast enough. I may have a new fruit favorite. I'll have to eat that purple one again to be sure, then this one again. Then that purple one...

Gerber Organic - Pear, Blueberry and Oat
Mommy got this one because she said Sissy's favorite when she was a baby was something called Blueberry Buckle. Of course Gerber doesn't make it anymore so I don't get to try it.
This one had a good texture- mommy only had to add a little more oatmeal to get it to the texture that I prefer. She thinks its funny that I'll eat almost anything as long as she gets the texture right. It smelled really yummy too and was mildly tart but sweet. I'll eat it again.

Gerber- Apples & Banana's with Mixed Cereal.
This one was OK. To be honest I wasn't crazy about it, but I ate it. It did have a nice texture, just no real flavor. I looked around, wasn't really interested- but I ate it.
Mommy tried this one two days in a row because she couldn't believe I didn't like it. Same result.

Plum Organic- sweet potato, corn and apple
Well, this one was good too! I guess I just like everything. The lemon juice in it made me shake my head after each bite like it was sour, so mommy laughed a lot while feeding me. Mainly because I kept coming back for more. It was really good!!! I like to make my noises and dive for the spoon.

Plum Organic Pumpkin & Banana
This stuff was surprisingly good! I wasn't to sure after the first smell. It just smelled like boring old bananas, but it was a pretty orange color. It was super yummy!! Mommy called me her little "punkin eater" after I was done. I made a few "mmm" sounds, and ate it really fast. I've started saving my "mmmm" sounds for things that are more "savory", or so mommy says. I like it when Daddy is in the room while mommy feeds me. I get loud again and tell him what I think of my food too.

HappyBaby Chick Chick (with veggies)
WHOOP! Mommy finally did it! She gave me something with meat in it! This is an organic blend of chicken, corn, potato flakes, quinoa, onion, carrot and parsley. I was SUPER excited by the texture I kept squishing it around in my mouth before I would swallow it. Mommy didn't put any rice or oatmeal into this she just let me have it, and oh my goodness. I couldn't get enough, and cried again when it was all gone She has promised that I'll get more of this one, just not very often yet and gave me bananas and oatmeal for dessert. She said this was a special treat to see if I was ready for meat. Obviously I am and it didn't upset my tummy at all. And next time- I get to eat it WARM!
Well the next time I got this- I thought it was nasty. I made faces and just let it fall out of my mouth- I refused to eat it. Oh- and I gagged too.

Gerber Nature Select Banana Mixed Berries
I had this for breakfast for two days- mixed with oatmeal. It was super yummy! It had a nice smell of banana's and berries and it disappeared from my bowl really quickly, though I did want to take a moment and smear some of it around. I think it may be time to begin finger painting! It was a lovely lavender color after all.

Plum Organic raspberry, spinach & greek yogurt
This was my first try at a yogurt. I have to say I liked it! Mommy let me play with the empty pouch while she was feeding me, but had to take off the top because it's a choking hazard. I've decided it's time to help myself to that spoon as it comes closer. I mean, hurry it up woman! I try to tell you to hurry, but you just never listen. It had a nice sweet flavor and I could see little specks of chopped spinach. Mommy said that when you read the ingredients, there are apples in here too- so that could be why it was sweet- I don't know for sure bit it was a yummy breakfast with my oatmeal!

Ella's Kitchen-carrots, apples + parsnips
This was the first time I got to eat anything from Ella. It was another goodie!! It had a mildly sweet flavor and even Sissy liked it. (Don't tell Mommy, but Sissy licks her fingers when she is feeding me.) Mommy mixed in rice, but it would also taste good with oatmeal I think. I took my time eating it though. I was talking a lot to Sissy- she is a lot messier when she feeds me than Mommy is. I just couldn't get her to understand.

Gerber Organic Squash and Apples- aka: My favorite
The very first time I had this, Mommy knew I was a foodie. This was my first food "blend" of more than one flavor and I went NUTS. I threw my arms out and made my "mmm...mmmm...mmmm" noise. I also made monkey noises to tell her she wasn't getting the spoon back into my mouth fast enough. Then when it was all gone, I CRIED and tried to slurp what I could off of my bib. It is safe to say- I love this stuff. Mommy adds rice into it to make it nice and thick and
squishy. I love to squish it around in my mouth before I swallow now that I get it more often. ahh... my favorite meal. For now. That purple one was pretty tasty too!

Gerber Organic Garden Vegetables with whole wheat pasta
Don't let the fancy name fool you. Mommy told me the truth. This is peas and carrots with pasta. It passed my smell test, so I opened my mouth and tried it. It was okay I guess, but I wasn't going nuts for it. Lucky for Mommy I was hungry so I ate it all gone. She told me that we have several packages of this, and she'll add some plain cooked chicken to it next week for me. She and Sissy keep talking about this "meat" stuff. I need to try it.
Happy Baby Organic banana, beet and blueberry
This one was a taste surprise! I smelled it and opened my mouth to try it right away- but it was a shock! Mommy said it must be "tart" because of the face I made every time I got a mouth full- at first I wasn't sure what I thought of it, but I kept opening for more. Mommy as laughing really loud at me while I was eating it and said I was making the most hilarious faces. By the end of the bowl I decided that I liked it! Maybe we will eat the rest of it tomorrow.

Plum Organic zucchini, banana & amaranth
Oh My Goodness!!!!
This one smelled so interesting that I opened my mouth right away. Mommy says it smells like something called zucchini bread, and I could try that next year. She put a little oatmeal in this again to make it thicker. But I ate it all gone, and I made sure to make lots of noise so Mommy would know how much I liked it, and I had to get on her a couple times for not feeding me fast enough. Daddy told Mommy to save some for Sissy's gecko, I'm gonna have to discuss that with him. I don't know how I feel about sharing this goodness with something I can't even play with. Maybe I can work out a trade, because we'll be getting this one again!
**Update- My friend Paulie Coconuts got to eat this today 7/13- his mommy reports that he ate this all gone by sucking it straight from the pouch!! Then he yelled at his daddy for his dinner. heehee...

Happy Baby Organic spinach, mango and pears
No thank you.
This was the very first time that I ever turned anything down. It really didn't smell like anything- so I almost didn't open my mouth. It really didn't taste like anything either. None of the flavors popped out, it was just mildly sweet. I was looking forward to trying mango since I like blueberries so much. Mommy tried adding oatmeal to it, but I just kept turning my head away after about 5 bites. This was after the dribbling didn't work. She kept collecting what I was squirting out and giving it back.
Mommy was disappointed because this is the first time she had ever purchased this brand. She said it looked kind of weird too because there were tiny chopped up pieces of spinach mixed in with the oatmeal even though there wasn't much flavor. Finally she wised up and just threw it out and gave me Gerber Peaches and Apples. I gobbled that all up because I was hungry, and she thanked me for being polite enough to just turn my head away. She said my sissy would have made her wear it. I'm still trying to figure out what she means by that.

Gerber Organic Farmers Market Blend
mmmm...mmmm....mmmmm..... I had this one with rice mixed in. What's not to like? Carrots, corn and tomato puree mixed together with some brown rice and oat flour. Mommy added in rice cereal to make it a little thicker for me. I wasn't happy when it was all gone, so she gave me half a container of carrots to finish up . (They were ok... I guess. I still liked the first stuff better) Mommy told me we were trying tomatoes and corn so that she could make me a gluten free, low acid pasta. :)
Update! I had this for dinner 6/12/12 and I must say it is still one of my favorites! I made sure to be REALLY loud with my "MMMMM" sound so that she and Daddy could hear that I LOVE this one!! I made the noise with every bite and rolled my eyes around, leaning forward for the spoon as soon as it came out of the bowl. I really hope they got the hint. I LOVE this stuff!

Plum Organic- Broccoli and Pears
Keigans sister picked this out for him tonight. I think she just liked the fact that she was making him eat broccoli. Again I found it thin for him, so mixed in some rice but it's probably just the brand overall. And we all tasted it before he did- I really wish broccoli tasted like that when I was a kid!!
The pears overpowered the broccoli, and my daughter is claiming " no fair" that Keigan gets to eat yummy broccoli. *Shrug* He liked it- can't say loved, since he was much more quiet than usual, but he still ate it all. IF I do this one again, I'll feed it to him at breakfast instead of dinner, and only fix half a pouch with something else as a side.
**Update** Gas warning. Poor kiddo was waking himself up a bit with gas last night! Well- it is broccoli!!

Plum Organic Blueberry, Pear and Purple Carrot
Today's offering: Plum Organics Blueberry, Pear and Purple Carrot. He's already been introduced to all of the ingredients just a new flavor combination. This one came in a pouch, which was new for me, and honestly I found it pretty thin for Keigan's tastes, so I added the dry oatmeal right into it and mixed until it would hang on the spoon. It passed his smell test, and took two bites for him to start the arm stretching out, then his trademark- "mmmm" He LOVED it, ate the entire pouch and it was gone in record time, and there was barely a drop left on his bib.
**Update** He has had this one three other times and has devoured it each and every time making crazy good noises.
*Keigan's note- My friend baby "P" loves this stuff too! We make our mommies very happy by liking the good stuff!

Introducing Keigan the Critic
Having a baby who is not quite 5 months old yet who LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to eat food- I thought I'd give this a shot. I introduced solids to him around 4 months- a bit earlier than I would have liked, but this boy was ready. He was extremely interested in what we were eating, watching every bite going into our mouths. He was already a supported sitter, and eating over 25oz a day with the peanut butter poop. And this week he has started "begging" for food. He first tried it on a lady at the pool who was eating bright orange Doritos's. Keep in mind this child has never seen a Dorito in his life, yet he was leaning as far toward her as he could, watching her every move, mouth hanging open and making his "mmmm...mmmm" sound. She even offered him one, it was that obvious what he wanted.
Keigan "eats" two meals per day. This is by choice, and yes I know that all his nutrients should come from formula at this point in his life. (I promise you he still eats a full bottle after each feeding, food is purely for play at this stage of his life, I'm just encouraging him.) I usually do oatmeal with fruits, and rice with veggies because those flavors just seem to go a bit better together- and green beans are a side dish, not a main course! Texture is apparently important to Keigan. Anything too runny will just get "squished" out of his mouth and dribble a bit more. He starts each feeding session by smelling the spoon. It is hilarious, but has to be done. I just hold it there while he breathes in and out. Then his mouth will open and his tongue comes out to take the first bite. He hasn't refused anything yet, but some things he likes more than others. You can tell if it is something he REALLY likes because he throws out his arms to the side like he is flying, and exclaims "mmmm...mmmmm....mmmm" in between bites, and opens his mouth really wide, leaning as far as he can toward the spoon! And if he doesn't really care for it- then he takes his time, squishes a lot more out and won't finish.
And lastly- All his offerings are organic- and the only meat he will get is what I make. Baby food meat is, well- canned meat. Yuck.

First solid food. Hey- this stuff isn't bad!
